Band and Basketball

I never though I would particularly enjoy sports or cared who won, but now that I get to play with the band I've changed my mind a bit. My band got to skip school and play for the girls basketball games. We have tons of fun cheering for our team and playing music. I have decided that I like our winning streak and watching the games, a great change from "I don't care who wins, this is boring". The best part though, is playing the music. It's great to play with the band and watch the drum line with my friends. Our colors are black and gold for the Wasps so that is the reason for the bright t-shirts some of us are wearing in the pictures.

This is me and my two of my band buddies, McCall and Bryson. Ryan was sick or I would have a picture of him too. We look kind of funny because we were taking our own picture.
This is Mr. Siggard, the most awesome band teacher in the world.
Here are Bryson and Alison with Nate in back. (Why is this underlined?)
McCall took this one and the one below

This is Dallin playing snare in the drum line.

These are more pictures of our awesome drum line. The quad players are amazing, but I couldn't get pictures of them because they are always in the middle.
Thanks to McCall who took most of these pictures for me and to Mom who decided we should put some of my band stuff on here.

Odds and Ends

Bethany's always got a project going, this car is her latest.  It has all the extras including a seat belt for her, a seatbelt for a stuffed animal, handlebars and Mom's best ribbons.  And environmentally friendly too!

The long wait is over!  Carter finally lost his first tooth in February.  The tooth fairy even managed to come the first night.  That is pretty rare at our house as we all know the tooth fairy is very busy.

Baths made easy!  Ryan and Carter discovered that wearing their swim masks make shampooing hair much easier.  Mom is  very grateful for small blessings.  Too bad Bethany's head is too small for this trick to work for her.  She raises the roof when we wash her hair.

Dad's Winter Wonderland

That Scott's skate ramp is rideable in the winter is a little known fact.  Fortunately all Scott's Jr. High skating "buddies" are busy snowboarding or we would see more of them than we do.  In the summer we've had a constant stream of kids wanting to ride his ramp.  The new skate park has changed this somewhat but we still get skaters looking for a diversion.

Mom and Dad jealously guard their personal time.  Sarah gets to go walking, and can out run everyone if the kids are clingy.  Scott however, has to keep the kids off his ramp if he wants to skate so it's a little tricky sometimes.  Even after keeping the ramp covered all winter he still has to brush off  the snow when the kids play on it.  (or the sand in the summer)  Sometimes one of the kids will get tired of  Dad's toy and will hide his skateboard...

Happy Mardi Gras Day!

Happy Mardi Gras Day everyone! (The literal translation is Fat Tuesday) So everybody eat a lot and wear lots of green, purple, and gold. (I don't know why those colors are for Mardi Gras Day.)

Everybody just got over their colds, our regrets to those who haven't lost theirs yet. Bethany is learning the letter T for Timmy Tiger. Carter finished his ceramics class and returned with a wonderful unicorn and a gnome. Ryan finished his cat early but he gets to go try out different instruments for school next year this week. Camille will be missing school a few times this week for band and has few regrets. She and Sarah got to play a duet in Sacrament Meeting last Sunday and sounded very nice in their own opinion. Sarah has been busy with cub scouts and keeping the family from fighting. Scott has been spending a lot of time shoveling snow (yay for no more snow!), and helping Sarah with the kids. He also participated in the Deacon's Klondikes theses past weeks.
