Out of Africa Safari

On the way home we met David and Melody and their family to go see the Out of Africa preserve. Grammy and Pa came too.  We saw and petted two large boa consticters.  We also saw hyenas, lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and a rhino among other things. We all had a great time, especially the kids.

The safari trip was the best part.  We drove right up to the animals and fed them carrots from our hands.  All the children on the bus just laughed with delight.  I think it was just as fun to watch the kids as it was to watch the animals.

The giraffe just stuck his head in the bus to get his treats.

Spring Break at Grammy and Pa's House

Uncle David showed us all around his work at the native fish hatchery.  It's not everyone who gets to share their office space with large vats of baby fish...  It was fun and interesting to see what David gets to do everyday.  We just wish he had as much funding as the trout hatchery up the road.

The kids got to feed David's fish.  Bethany thought this was great until David mentioned the fish food was dried blood worms.  Her expression said it all...

We loved playing outside at Grammy's and Pa's.  The weather was great every day we were there, a welcome change from the snow and rain we usually experience in April.

Grammy has her own special sunshine!
